Marc Santugini

Associate Professor of Economics

My life as an economist and educator has been fueled by the conviction that even the most complex economic problems can be understood through modeling and analysis. I discovered my passion in unraveling optimization and equilibrium problems, employing graphical representations to demystify seemingly chaotic systems. In my role as an educator, I create an engaging and intense learning environment, inspired by unconventional films like "School of Rock" and "Miracle." These movies, though non-traditional, effectively achieve their goal of imparting knowledge and igniting a love for learning and success as a team. My teaching philosophy centers around hard work and dedication. I set high expectations for my students but maintain open lines of communication via direct messaging, being available to answer questions anytime, whenever I am not watching my kids play soccer, sharing a meal with my family, or sleeping… As a contributor to the Engagements student experience, I hope to show the beauty and complexity of economic concepts by creating 3D models in virtual reality.
