I’ve seen how animated students become when learning about the achievements of eminent creative personages. I wanted to participate in the Engagements Courses because I’d like to instill an interest in creative genius among students at the beginning of their university experience. I’m thrilled if students tell me that they’ve decided to major or minor in Art History or English after taking a course on Michelangelo or Dante. Gaining an understanding of how great works are created and what makes them great has lifelong effects. A cultivated mind leads to a rich life and that is what I most wish to contribute my participation in the Engagements Courses.
