Eli Carter

Associate Professor of Spanish

I am a scholar of Global Television and New Media, with a specific emphasis on the Global South and Brazil. My work explores questions having to do with aesthetics, production and distribution, legislation and politics, and inequality, race, and representation. I have dedicated the last twenty-plus years of my life to researching and teaching Brazilian culture and history. During that time, learning with and getting to know undergraduate students has been among the most enriching experiences. I am excited to continue that work in the Engagements over the next two years.
