I study how particles interact with each other to form interesting structures and how the interactions between particles are changed by the surrounding environment. I study these interactions by using computer simulations, which allow me to understand details of the world around us that are often difficult to probe experimentally. Through my research, I have learned to ask questions, look for answers within data, and determine when I need more evidence. The empirical and scientific engagements courses allow students to learn these vital skills that are important to properly analyzing situations within the broader world and their personal lives.
