Cherrie Kwok

Postdoctoral Fellow

My career as a scholar and an educator has been guided by my commitment to examining the global histories of imperialism, settler colonialism, and enslavement from the nineteenth century onwards, and inviting my students to think about what kind of future they would like to craft in response to these histories. I am trained as a literary critic, so my primary site of examination in my research and in the classroom is language—how words are crafted and used, and how these words then help us to articulate ideas, concepts, and positions about the world. I am excited to continue this work through the College Fellows Program.
