As a physicist specializing in theoretical condensed matter physics, I am deeply intrigued by the fundamental principles governing the behavior of matter at the quantum level. Quantum mechanics is at the heart of my research, guiding my exploration of the intricate dynamics of condensed matter systems. Richard Feynman's famous assertion that "nobody understands quantum mechanics" underscores the profound mystery and counterintuitive nature of this field, yet it also offers an exciting opportunity to delve into big questions through the lens of small-scale phenomena. In my engagement course, we will explore the basic concepts of quantum mechanics, perform intriguing experiments, and unravel the secrets behind its inherent counterintuitive nature.
